Teaching runs in my blood. I am a fourth generation teacher, starting back with my great-grandmother who taught in a one room schoolhouse in Wisconsin- talk about differentiation! After that, my wonderful grandmother and grandfather taught high school, and my amazing mother was an inspirational elementary school teacher as well. I guess you could say I was destined for it.

During my youth, I ran summer camps in my backyard for upwards of 30 kids (which drove my poor mother crazy) and I knew just what I wanted to do with my life when I headed off to the University of Oregon. I guess you could say I am one of the lucky ones. I followed my passion, and I'm happy to say I have looked forward to going to school every day. I call it school and not work because I am always learning new things from my colleagues and students, and to be honest, through the past 11 years of teaching, it hasn't felt like work at all.

This is why I am passionate about also sharing my teaching ideas and creating new products for other teachers. Being Mrs. Dessert- The Sweetest Teacher, I will be cooking up recipes for success that you can implement in your classroom today!

I also believe that by working together we can lighten the load. Collaboration over competition! Although we would like to think we can do it all, we just can't. Through my blog, Instagram, and TPT store, I hope to stress this ideal and work together with you to lighten our load in doing what is best for our students.

I appreciate you stopping by to check out my blog, and I look forward to learning with you and helping each other out along the way. Please feel free to leave a comment or send an email with any questions, requests, or collaboration inquiries.

So who's ready for some sweet lessons?
